Dr. Artunduaga is a highly trained and qualified physician with an extensive expertise in all facets of her work. She has four plus five of experience working with health technology companies and nonprofit organizations, and is currently working as a Translational Medicine Specialist at UCSF School of Medicine in San Francisco, California.
Dr. Artunduaga’s career in medicine began in 2003 when she graduated with her Medical Degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Colombia’s premier medical school, where she also gained her Diploma of Biomedical Research in 2007. She then attended Harvard Medical School to complete her postdoctoral fellowship in molecular genetics, before serving her residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Chicago. Furthermore, she completed her Master of Public Health Degree with a focus Global Health Leadership, Policy and Management in 2016 from the University of Washington, and her joint Master’s Degree in Translational Medicine in 2017 from the University of California, Berkeley and San Francisco.
As a cofounder of five international student lead organizations, Dr. Artunduaga has helped to shape policy both in the United States and abroad. To keep up to date with the latest advances in her field, Dr. Artunduaga remains a distinguished member of several professional organizations. She attributes her successful career to having experience medical challenges in her family, seeing the challenges of first hand developing countries, and becoming dedicated to innovation and improvement of care cost-effectively. When she is not working, Dr. Artunduaga enjoys spending time outdoors, sailing or playing tennis. She is also an artist that creates sculptures and dances flamenco.
