Datalogics, the premier source for PDF and eBook technologies, is excited to announce a partnership with Califa Group to implement the SimplyE solution in California libraries. Datalogics will work with six libraries within the California library system to begin the integration.

Califa, the largest library network in California, is a nonprofit library membership consortium of more than 220 libraries. In an effort to streamline their patron’s access to eBooks, they chose to partner with Datalogics to deploy SimplyE, a complete solution that would bring content from multiple sources together in one place. Patrons can browse through titles, checkout, and start reading all within the same application. Califa, an early adopter of this solution, is ready to move their patron’s experience back to something that resembles the physical act of walking into a library.

Datalogics is proud to partner with the public library community to expand the use of SimplyE and make it easier for patrons of all libraries to access content. Their integration and hosting service includes: infrastructure setup, installation and integration of SimplyE with existing library systems (ILS, Content Sources, etc.), development of support in SimplyE for additional Content Sources, and Google Analytics dashboards for viewing anonymous patron activity. They also offer deployment services and ongoing support and maintenance of the solution.

“Our aim is to make it easy for libraries to offer the SimplyE app to their reading public”, says Paula MacKinnon, Director at Califa. “SimplyE will ensure easy access to all of the eBooks that a library purchases, regardless of the platform provider, and will support library standards for patron privacy when reading library-loaned eBooks.”

“We support the initiative that the New York Public Library and the other libraries who have contributed to the SimplyE project because we believe that borrowing eBooks should be just as easy, if not easier, as borrowing a physical book from a library,” says Brandon Haugen, Product Manager for SimplyE integration services at Datalogics.
