With an upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare, Daria U. Amato, RN, CNE, MSN, joins the prestigious ranks of the International Nurses Association. Daria is a Registered Nurse with 40 years of experience in her field and extensive expertise in all facets of nursing. Daria is currently serving as Nurse Educator and Administrator at Northern Virginia Community College in Springfield, Virginia.
Daria acquired her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1976 from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky. An advocate for continuing education, she received her Master of Science Degree in Nursing in 1990 from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. She is also a Certified Nurse Educator, and maintains professional memberships with the National League for Nursing, the National Association of Catholic Nurses, and the American Nurses Association.
Daria is an inductee of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, founder of a nursing school in Ghana, and the recipient of an Open Congregation Award on United Nations Day for her service to providing education in a remote, underprivileged area. She attributes her success to the impact of her life experiences, helping her to see other options in nursing she may have not explored. When she is not working, Daria enjoys traveling, skiing, and walking.
