Dr. Peter Norling Smith has been practicing for over 33 years and is currently serving patients within the Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Dr. Smith obtained his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the Finch University of Health Sciences School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois in 1983. After completing an internship and residency at Mayo Clinic, he undertook fellowships at the Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, and at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Dr. Smith is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and earned the coveted title of Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society. He is an acknowledged expert in heart arrhythmias and is a specialist in electronic monitoring of the heart. Dr. Smith attributes his success to his excellent training and the support of his colleagues, and when he is not assisting patients, he is an accomplished guitarist and enjoys spending time in the great outdoors.
