Brooks has been in practice for more than 20 years and is currently serving patients within Soldier’s Memorial Hospital in Middleton, Nova Scotia, Canada. She is also on staff at the Stevenson Open Access Clinic, and serves as a National Senior Physician Leader for Deloitte.
Dr. Brooks obtained her Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Microbiology and Immunology in 1993 from Dalhousie University, followed by her Medical Degree in 1997 within the same educational venue. Following her graduation, she completed her Family Medicine residency at Memorial University of Newfoundland. In 2016, Dr. Brooks gained her Master of Business Administration Degree from Ivey Business School at Western University.
To keep up to date with the latest advances and developments in her field, Dr. Brooks maintains a professional membership with the Canadian Medical Association, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and the Doctors Nova Scotia. For her hard work and dedication, she was named Preceptor of the Year in 2011, and is the recipient of the Nova Scotia Physicians Award in 2012. Dr. Brooks attributes her success to the privilege of learning from excellent peers, as well as indulging in self advancement. When she is not assisting her patients, Dr. Brooks enjoys gardening, cycling, golfing, and traveling.
