He is a highly-trained and qualified gastroenterologist with expertise in all facets of his work, especially therapeutic endoscopy. Dr. David Carr-Locke has been practicing for over 44 years and is Chief of the Gastroenterology Department at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York City, New York. He also serves as Director of the Endoscopy Institute at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Dr. David Carr-Locke obtained his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the prestigious University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. Dr. Carr-Locke then went on to complete an internship at Kettering General Hospital, a residency at Orsett Hospital, and a fellowship at the Leicester Royal Infirmary, all of which are in the United Kingdom. After moving to the United States, Dr. Carr-Locke completed a fellowship at the New England Baptist Hospital in Roxbury Crossing, Massachusetts.
Dr. Carr-Locke earned the coveted title of Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. He is also Past President of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and was presented with their Rudolf V. Schindler award in 2007. He attributes his success to the support of his family and his hard work and passion for his job. When he is not assisting patients, Dr. Carr-Locke enjoys playing tennis and listening to music.
