The International Nurses Association is pleased to welcome Donice A. Leak, APRN, FNP-BC, CPN, SANE-PEDS, to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. Donice A. Leak is a Family Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of experience in her field and an extensive expertise in all facets of nursing, especially family medicine and sexual assault forensics. Donice is currently assisting patients within Unity Healthcare and the Children’s National Medical Center, and is also a Clinical Instructor for Marymount University and The Catholic University of America.
Donice graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 2006 from Howard University. An advocate for continuing education, she went on to gain her Master of Science Degree in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner concentration in 2014 from The Catholic University of America. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at the same educational venue, with a projected graduation in 2018.
Donice holds additional certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support. She is also a Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, a Pediatric Nurse, and a Family Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. An inductee of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Donice attributes her success to her very strong family support system. When she is not working, Donice enjoys spending time with her children, taking them to museums and parks.
