He is a highly trained and qualified endocrinologist with an extensive expertise in all facets of his work, especially, thyroid disease and neuroendocrinology. Dr. Brian E. Michael is currently serving patients within WellSpan York Hospital in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and is also affiliated with WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital.
Dr. Michael graduated with his Medical Degree from the University of Connecticut. He subsequently completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine through the University of Connecticut Hospitals, before undertaking his fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Boston University Medical Center with a concentration on steroid and adrenal disorders, as well as thyroid and neuroendocrine disease. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, as well as in Diagnostic and Interventional Thyroid Ultrasound.
Dr. Michael maintains a professional membership with The Endocrine Society, the American Thyroid Association, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists; as well as state and local medical societies. Dr. Michael has published and presented studies in the areas of thyroid cancer, various adrenal disease states, diabetes, and lipid disorders. He attributes his success to his professional mentors and being patient-centered in the care he provides. When he is not assisting patients, Dr. Michael enjoys scuba diving, electronics, communications, and flying.
