Dr. Dobroshi has been in practice for over 40 years and is currently serving patients at her private psychiatric practice located in New York City. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Dobroshi is affiliated with Harlem Hospital. Furthermore, Dr. Dobroshi is Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychiatry in Case Western Reserve University of Cleveland, Assistant Professor at Columbia University Fellowship Program, and Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry in Pristine (EU).
Dr. Dobroshi received her Medical degree in 1972 from the University of Belgrade School of Medicine. Upon relocating to the United States, she completed her internship and fellowship at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Dr. Dobroshi is certified in psychiatry and the subspecialty of child psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Dobroshi also maintains professional memberships with the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, the Albanian American Women’s Organization, and the Albanian-American Association.
An active local, regional, national, and international lecturer, Dr. Dobroshi was honored several times as Teacher of the Year at Columbia University, where she serves as Assistant Professor for the fellowship program. A published author on topics related to immigrant families, trauma, the use of play therapy, and children’s creativity in enhancing resilience, Dr. Dobroshi attributes her success to her compassion in the work she does. When Dr. Dobroshi is not working, she enjoys reading and writing children’s books.
