Thomson is a highly trained and qualified otolaryngologist with an extensive expertise in all facets of his work, especially head and neck surgery. Dr. Thomson has been in practice for more than 30 years and is currently serving patients within Gosford Hospital in Gosford, New South Wales, Australia.
After completing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Botany and Organic Chemistry from Canterbury University, Dr. Thomson went on to gain his Medical Degree at Otago University. He worked in Dunedin, Nelson, and Wellington to complete his training in Otolaryngology, Head, and Neck Surgery. In addition, Dr. Thomson is involved in the education of medical students and surgical trainees, and was previously an examiner.
Dr. Thomson provides annual aid work on the African Mercy Hospital Ship in West Africa. He has a keen interest in skin cancers particularly of the head and neck. With his wealth of experience and knowledge, Dr. Thomson is renowned as an expert in salivary gland surgery and thyroid surgery, as well as otoplasty, rhinoplasty and blepharoplasty. He attributes his success to following his dreams and doing for others, and when he is not working, Dr. Thomson enjoys photography.
