The International Nurses Association is pleased to welcome Shafana Bhaloo, BSN, to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. Shafana Bhaloo is a Registered Nurse with over 19 years of experience in her field and an extensive expertise in all facets of nursing, especially geriatrics. Shafana is currently the Registered Nurse Team Leader within Baycrest Hospital in Toronto, Ontario, and is also affiliated with Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center.
Shafana Bhaloo attended Centennial College, where she completed her three year Diploma program in 1996. An advocate for continuing education, Shafana went on to earn her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 2014 from Ryerson University. To keep up to date with the latest advances and developments in her field, Shafana maintains a professional membership with the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Ontario Nurses Association, the Registered Nurses of Ontario, the Canadian Nurses Association, the International Nurses Association, and the Nursing Practice Network.
In addition to her work at Baycrest Hospital, Shafana works as a Clinical Nursing Instructor at University of Toronto and Centennial College. For her excellence, Shafana is the recipient of many awards including the Jerry Solway Nursing Education Award in 2008, and the Maxwell and Fanny Levy Nursing Award. She attributes her success to her father and mother, who always enforced the importance of education in her life, as well as her husband, who encouraged her to further her studies since she truly enjoys acquiring education, and her true passion for nursing. When she is not working, Shafana enjoys spending time with her family.
