Bernie is a senior clinician featuring over 35 years of clinical and 25 years of Employment Assistance Program (EAP) experience in the treatment of a multitude of diagnostic categories that have encompassed depression, anxiety, compulsive disorders, addiction, stress, relationship issues, marital and couples counseling, divorce, self -management including anger and emotional, enhancing Emotional Intelligence, pre and post adoption counseling, infertility, obsessive-compulsive (OCD) disorders, personality disorders, alcohol and substance abuse, grief, PTSD, and family issues. Treatment modalities entail individual, couples and family therapy. Bernie is a strong proponent of mind-body health, especially psychoneuroimmunology, i.e. the connection between attitudes, emotions, and relationships as they contribute to one’s physical health. Bernie received his degree in 1974 from New York University. He is a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work by the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work, the American Psychotherapy Association, and the National Association of Social Workers. Further recognition of Bernie’s recent achievements has been his receiving the distinguished honor of being granted Fellowship status by the American Psychotherapy Association for practitioners who meet the most stringent of professional standards. Over the course of his career, he was an Instructor at NYU, Fordham, Columbia, and Adelphi Graduate Schools of Social Work, Instructor and Counselor at York College, City University of New York, and an In-service trainer at Holliswood Psychiatric Hospital (Holliswood, NY).
