Hansen is a Chief Nursing Officer with over 18 years of experience and an extensive expertise in all facets of nursing, especially nurse consulting, freelance medical writing, and advocacy. Kelli owns and operates Advocate Nurses, LLC in La Vista, Nebraska. The services provided by Advocate Nurses include medical record review/summarization, consulting on organizational projects that require the expertise of a seasoned RN, clinical quality review, professional health care related writing services, and new healthcare business development.

Kelli M. Hansen’s career in nursing began in 1997 when she graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Kent State University. An advocate for continuing education, Kelli later gained her Master of Science Degree in Health Care Operations Management from the Nebraska Methodist College. Additionally, she is a Certified Senior Advisor, Certified Dementia Practitioner, Certified Managed Care Nurse, as well as a Legal Nurse Consultant. Kelli has worked in many fields of nursing since starting as an acute care cardiac and ICU nurse, and has held numerous clinical and leadership positions.

To keep up to date with the latest advances and developments in her field, Kelli maintains a professional membership with the American Association of Managed Care Nurses, the Society of Certified Senior Advisors, the Professional Patient Advocate Institute, the Continental Who’s Who, and the Metro Omaha Womens Business Association. An inductee of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Kelli serves as a member on the Board for Patient Advocacy Certification Task Force for Professional Patient Advocate Institute, and as a member on the Ethics and Disciplinary Board for Society of Certified Senior Advisors. She attributes her success to her passion for people, helping others, and her determination to never give up. When she is not working, Kelli likes to relax by hiking.
