Dr. Rex L. Mahnensmith graduated in 1977 his Medical Degree from Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. Following his graduation, Dr. Mahnensmith subsequently completed his internship, residency and fellowship all at Yale-New Haven Hospital. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Mahnensmith has also served as a Professor at Yale University, Duke University, and Brown University. To keep up to date with the latest advances in his field, Dr. Mahnensmith maintains a professional membership with the American Medical Directors Association.
For his excellence, Dr. Mahnensmith has won numerous awards throughout his long and distinguished career as Model Physician and Best Teacher, and has served as Master Teacher at Duke, Brown, and Yale Medical Schools. Dr. Mahnensmith is renowned as an expert in primary care, diabetes, hypertension, kidney diseases, lipid disorders and geriatric care. He holds dual board certification in Internal Medicine and in Nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Mahnensmith attributes his success to his many patients who sought his care over years,, the great mentors he has had, his faith, and the unwavering support of his family.
