With an upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare, Connie Cottrell Bonner, RN, BSN, joins the prestigious ranks of the International Nurses Association. She is a Nursing Supervisor with 40 years of experience in her field and an extensive expertise in all facets of nursing, especially nursing administration, emergency nursing, medical/surgical nursing, substance abuse, rehabilitation nursing, home health nursing, and hospice nursing. Connie is currently serving patients within Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, West Virginia.
Connie Cottrell Bonner’s career in nursing began in 1978 when she graduated with her Nursing Degree from West Virginia University Institute of Technology. An advocate for continuing education, Connie went on to obtain her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 2009 from Jacksonville University. Furthermore, Connie is currently pursuing her Master of Science Degree in Nursing at Wheeling Jesuit University. She holds additional certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and is also a Trauma Nursing Core Course Instructor.
To keep up to date with the latest advances and developments in her field, Connie maintains a professional membership with the American Nurses Association, the West Virginia Nurses Association, the National League for Nursing, the Emergency Nurses Association, the American Heart Association, and the American Red Cross. In addition to her work as a nurse, Connie has participated as a Surgical/Recover Nurse on missionary trips to Belize, where she performed 104 procedures in four and a half days. She attributes her success to the fact that nursing is ever changing, which keeps it all new for her. When she is not working, Connie enjoys sewing, crocheting, gardening, and reading.
