Bogardus, Jr. is a highly-trained and qualified Radiation Oncologist with an extensive expertise in all facets of his work, especially head and neck cancer, skin cancer, as well as benign and malignant condition of the eye. Dr. Bogardus has been in practice for a remarkable 58 years, and is currently serving patients as Professor, Clinical Director and Vice Chairman of the Department of Radiation Oncology within the Stephenson Cancer Care Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is also affiliated with Oklahoma University Hospital.
Dr. Carl R. Bogardus, Jr.’s career in medicine began in 1959 when he graduated with his Medical Degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Following his graduation, Dr. Bogardus completed his fellowship at Washington University. He is dual board certified in Therapeutic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, and maintains professional memberships with the American Society for Therapeutic Radiation Oncology, and the American College of Radiology, both of which have honored him with a prestigious Gold Medal Award.
Additionally, Dr. Bogardus has devoted a great portion of his professional life to clarifying and improving the payment structure encountered by radiation oncology practices. He recognized the need for a software application that could provide charge capture, compliance, and comprehensive documentation, and alongside his team, Dr. Bogardus created ONCOCHART. ONCOCHART is an advanced electronic medical record system for radiation oncology, providing centers with a program capable of handling the needs of an entire cancer center. Furthermore, Dr. Bogardus has developed BMSi seminars, radiation oncology seminars that cover the latest Medicare rulings and CPT codes. He attributes his successful career to his hard work and good luck, as well as being in the right specialty at the right time and taking advantage of his opportunities. When he is not assisting patients, Dr. Bogardus enjoys railroading.
