New Primary Care and Chiropractic Clinic Opens in Carrollwood

Florida Wellness Medical Group announces the opening of its flagship clinic in the Carrollwood area.  The location, a two-story wellness center near the Linebaugh and Gunn Highway intersection, will provide the highest quality, evidence-based wellness services, preventative care education, and personalized support to the community.

Why a new clinic in Carrollwood?  “Patient demand!” says Dr. Edward Leonard DC, Florida Wellness President/CEO & Lead Chiropractor.  “We have had many requests over the years to bridge the gap between our Trinity and Downtown/South Tampa clinics.   This Carrollwood location is important due to its central nature compared to our other four.”

Also to that end, Medical Director Dr. Jeralyn Allen, MD has been building rapport with her Florida Wellness patients for over two years.  She is Board-certified in Internal Medicine and fellowship-trained in Sports Medicine from Meharry Medical College.  Additionally, Dr. Allen offers her sports medicine expertise to patients aged 13 and up, a rare and much-needed adolescent specialty in the Tampa Bay area.

The providers and staff are what make Florida Wellness a premiere place to receive top-quality care, but the Carrollwood facility itself is also impressive.  A large physical therapy floor encompasses the first level of the clinic, with exercise and wellness equipment designed to speed up recovery from sports injuries, motor vehicle accidents, and injuries at home or work.  Two rooms are just off the PT area where licensed therapists will provide healing, restorative therapies.  The combination of massage, stretching, chiropractic treatment and other modalities is an effective, non-invasive way to alleviate chronic pain and muscle tightness, as well as promote tissue healing, by restoring mobility to joints.   Dr. Rals Abrahams, DC holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Emory & Henry College and received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College right here in Florida.  Abrahams is also licensed in Acupuncture, a treatment shown to decrease pain by various means such as endorphin release, increases in blood flow to injured tissue, and decreasing pain symptoms.

In addition to the comprehensive family practice and physical medicine services Florida Wellness Medical Group has provided for over ten years, this fifth clinic will house a pharmacy and a procedural medicine room – two firsts for the Group.  Dr. Leonard is excited about these new amenities.  He says, “We can add services and procedures [in the Carrollwood clinic] we cannot perform at each of the locations, but it’s central enough to all of them.  It’s all about patient convenience.”

Not only will patients be able to fill their prescriptions right after their appointments here, but Florida Wellness is offering delivery service to all of our patients throughout our clinic pool, whether it be to their homes or businesses.  Telemedicine service is also availabe, providing smartphone communication with providers to assess certain conditions.
