Wojak, MD, FSIR, FAHA to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in The Leading Physicians of the World. Dr. Joan C. Wojak is a highly trained and qualified radiologist with an extensive expertise in all facets of her work, especially diagnostic radiology and diagnostic interventional radiology. Dr. Wojak holds over three decades of experience in her field, and is currently serving patients within the Acadiana Radiology Group in Lafayette, Louisiana, and is also affiliated with Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, Heart Hospital of Lafayette, Abbeville General Hospital, Regional Medical Center of Acadiana, and the University Hospital and Clinics.
Dr. Wojak’s successful career in medicine began in 1983 when she graduated with her Medical Degree from New York University School of Medicine. Following her graduation, she completed her General Surgery internship at New York University, before undertaking her Neurosurgery residency at the same education venue. An additional residency in Radiology and Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology fellowship were both completed at Louisiana State University. Dr. Wojak is certified in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology by the American Board of Radiology, and she has earned the coveted title of Fellow of the AHA Stroke Council. In addition to assisting patients, Dr. Wojak teaches as an Associate Professor of Radiology at Louisiana State University School of Medicine, and also serves as the Executive Director of the Acadiana Therapeutic Riding Organization.
To keep up to date with the latest advances in her field, Dr. Wojak maintains a professional membership with the American College of Radiology, the American Society of Neuroradiology, the American Society of Spine Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society, and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons/College of Neurological Surgeons, among others. For her excellence, she was honored with a Mike Brothers Award for Best Interventional Neuroradiology Paper. Dr. Wojak attributes her success to her strong emphasis on education, intellectual curiosity in her upbringing, and her exposure to arts, travel, literature, and science. When she is not assisting patients, Dr. Wojak enjoys stamp collecting, science fiction, breeding Thoroughbred horses, and showing hunter/jumper horses.
