The International Nurses Association is pleased to welcome Karen L. Gamache, RN, to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. Karen L. Gamache is a Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse, currently serving patients within Yakima Regional Home Care and Hospice in Yakima, Washington. With over 41 years of experience and an extensive expertise in all facets of nursing.
Karen L. Gamache’s career in nursing began in 1975 when she graduated with her Nursing Degree from Yakima Valley Community College in Washington, becoming a Registered Nurse. Karen has learned many new skills during her long and successful nursing career, and holds additional certification as a Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse. To keep up to date with the latest advances in her field, Karen maintains a professional membership with the American Nurses Association and the Washington Nurses Association.
For her excellence, Karen was Voted Nurse of the Year in 2004, and Nurse of the Quarter in 2003, both from Yakima Valley Community College. She lectures new nurses at Yakima Valley Community College, and medical students at the Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences. Karen attributes her success to experiences as a whole, as well as her love of learning and her ability to stay up to date with advances in nursing practice and technology. When she is not working, Karen loves to travel, and enjoys watching her 14 grandchildren grow.
