With an upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare, Carmen L. Ortiz, RN, MBA, joins the prestigious ranks of the International Nurses Association. Carmen is a registered nurse with 43 years of experience in her field and an extensive expertise in all facets of nursing, especially school nursing. Carmen is currently serving as School Nurse in South San Antonio Independent School District in Texas. Furthermore, she has taught at Galen College of Nursing for two years as a Medical/Surgical Licensed Vocational Nurse Program Instructor.
Carmen graduated with her Nursing Degree in 1973 from San Antonio College. An advocate for continuing education, Carmen then acquired her Bachelor Degree in Management in 2007 from the University of Phoenix, followed by her Master’s Degree in Business Administration in 2009 from the same educational venue. To keep up to date with the latest advances in the nursing field, Carmen maintains is presently the president of the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses Alamo Chapter. Carmen attributes her success to her experience, and promoting health and wellness, and has also participated on medical missions in Mexico and Guatemala.
