As a member of the Assemblée Nationale, the lower house of the Parliament of France under the Fifth Republic, Frédéric Lefebvre represents approximately 210-thousand French citizens living in the U.S. and Canada.
So he travels. A lot. To America and Canada.
Even as some pundits in America scratch their heads over what in the U.S. has been portrayed as an “unexpected” or “surprising” win by Mr. Trump, Frédéric Lefebvre could be saying those words most of us hate to hear: I told you so.
While the current French President, François Hollande stated publicly that Mr. Trump made him “want to retch,” Frédéric Lefebvre, subject of the book AMERICAN TOUCH, penned an editorial in support of Mr. Trump and predicted his victory.
Mr. Hollande, who after the U.S. election stated that Mr. Trump’s victory “opened a period of uncertainty in Europe,” recently announced that he would not be seeking re-election as president of France. He has an approval rating of about 4%.
Well before the election, and even as polls showed Hillary Clinton comfortably ahead, Frédéric Lefebvre was convinced that Mr. Trump could win the election, telling the New Yorker about a visit to San Francisco in September, some two months before election day.
“I remember I met a young woman—she was 35 years old, had two daughters, and was working all day doing valet parking at a restaurant,” said Frédéric Lefebvre, a former Secretary of State for Trade, Small and Medium Enterprises, Tourism, Services, Liberal professions and Consumption under the Minister of Economy, Finance and Industry under Nicolas Sarkozy. “It was just after Trump said some horrible things about women, and she told me, ‘I will vote for Trump, because I want to change this system.’”
Frédéric Lefebvre has been invited to attend the inauguration of Mr. Trump when he is sworn in as 45th President of the United States.
Frédéric Lefebvre represented the Hauts-de-Seine department, and was the spokesperson of the Union for a Popular Movement. He is the founder of l’Âme Nord, a non profit organiZAtion dedicated to serve the interests of French residents living in the USA and Canada to build a network of communication and social link between the French diaspora.
Frédéric Lefebvre has spoken out about ISIS and the need to destroy the terrorist organization. He has inspired youths to be more involved in the process. Mr. Lefebvre is widely considered to be a rising star in France.
