Dr. Hicks, a Colorado native, earned his medical degree from the University of Colorado Denver in 1998. Since then, he has received the Gary Miller, MD, PhD Award for Research as Surgical Path fellow at the University of Colorado Health Science Center, as well as teaching awards at the same college. He is a past president of the Colorado Society of Clinical Pathologists, and volunteers medical services for local schools. He accredits his success to making himself available to physicians in the community and the depth of his knowledge.
