After moving to the United States, Dr. Khalpey completed a cardiac surgery internship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital prior to a residency was completed at Columbia University.
Dr. Khalpey is certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery – Cardiac Surgery, and by the European Board of Cardiothoracic Surgery. He is internationally renowned as an expert in pediatric and adult heart transplantation, and remains a member of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and the American Academy and Board of Regenerative Medicine. Dr. Khalpey has also earned the coveted title of Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and he says that his success is due to his persistence and his passion for knowledge.
