The International Nurses Association warmly welcomes Gretha Fievre, RN, MSA, MA, to their esteemed organization with an upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. Gretha is a registered nurse with an astounding 43 years of experience in the nursing field. She specializes in public health, forensic nursing, nursing education, intensive care unit, medical/surgical nursing, and home health nursing. Gretha currently works at Lienhard School of Nursing Pace University in New York, and College of Nursing and Public Health at Adelphi University in Long Island, New York. She was formerly employed at Queens Hospital Center in Jamaica, New York, Elmhurst Hospital in Elmhurst, New York, North General Hospital in New York City, Rikers Island Prison Health Services in Queens, New York, Visiting Nurse Service of New York, and Lynden Nursing Home in Astoria, New York.
Gretha received her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree from Veeb Nassau County School of Practical Nursing in 1973, followed by her Registered Nursing Degree from Queensborough Community College in 1986. She then went on to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from York College in 1996, prior to obtaining her Master of Arts Degree from Pace University and her MSA from Central Michigan University. Gretha holds additional certification in basic life support and CPR, and remains a professional member of the American Nurses Association and the New York State Nurses Association. Additionally, Gretha attributes all her success to her strong desire to help others and to mobilize and train young leaders for improving healthcare delivery in Haiti. In the fall of 2011, Gretha founded the Health Education Action League for Haiti (HEAL Haiti), a nonprofit organization dedicated to making a long term contribution to the development of healthcare and education in Haiti. In her free time, Gretha enjoys dancing.
