The D.C. murder of Seth Rich remains unsolved.

Republican lobbyist Jack Burkman who in September offered a $100,000 reward to help solve the murder of Seth Rich, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) staffer who was shot in the back in D.C. walking home to his apartment, now says he will employ political campaign tactics to help the family find justice.

“On Monday, we will be going door to door, handing out flyers and touching people in the northwest D.C. neighborhood where Seth lived and died to find who did this,” says Burkman. “This is about me helping parents find answer and realize justice.”

At noon on Monday, at Crispus Attucks Park in the Bloomingdale Neighborhood, Mr. Burkman will be joined by Joel and Mary Rich, Seth’s parents, for a news conference to bring attention to the unsolved killing.

In Washington, where money usually buys access, Mr. Burkman, principal at Burkman & Assoc., hopes it buys information which is why, back in September, he first announced the $100,000 reward.

Shortly after the murder, D.C. police put up a $25,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

“There are too many strange events involving this murder and none seem to make any sense,” Mr. Burkman said back in September. “I hope the $100,000 in additional reward money will finally get to the truth of what happened here and will either debunk the conspiracy theories or validate them.”

Burkman’s $100,000 reward is for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.

In August, Wikileaks, hinting that the murder may be politically motived, offered a $20,000 reward, suggesting that Mr. Rich’s death may be tied to a wider scheme involving DNC email leaks. Wikileaks has not confirmed or denied that Mr. Rich was the source of the emails or if the reward it is offering is connected to that.

Though Mr. Burkman is a lobbyist, he insists none of what he is doing has anything to do with politics.

“As a part of the D.C. political family, I am doing what I can to help solve this murder,” says Burkman. “And I hope the media will spread the world.”

Mr. Burkman’s firm represents a long list of defense contractors and has made the lists of top lobby firms many times over the years.
