With an upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare, Patricia Mews, MHA, RN, CNOR, joins the prestigious ranks of the International Nurses Association. Pat is a registered nurse with 30+ years of experience in her field and extensive expertise in all facets of Surgical Services, especially management consulting consisting of organization design, management and leadership development. Her expertise includes surgeon block scheduling that enhances OR utilization and decreased turnover time. She works closely with Administration and the Department of Surgical Services directing and facilitating teams to improve processes, streamline, standardize, and increase efficiencies in order to deliver improved patient outcomes. Pat is currently serving patients as management consultant and owner of Mews Surgical Consulting Inc., Fountain Hills, Arizona, which she launched in 2004.
Pat attended Macomb Community College in Mt Clemens, Michigan, where she received her Associate of Science degree in Nursing. She then went to the University of Detroit Mercy, and acquired her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. An advocate for continuing education, Pat went on to complete her Master’s in Health Administration in 1993 from Webster University College of Arts and Sciences in Webster Groves, Missouri. To stay up to date in her challenging field, Pat maintains professional memberships with the American Nurses Association, the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses, and the Arizona Nurses Association. Pat attributes her success to her drive, and her love of Perioperative Nursing. When she is not working, she dedicates her free time to decorating, traveling to see family and playing golf.
