With an upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare, Bonnie J. Epple, RN, CDE, joins the prestigious ranks of the International Nurses Association. She is a registered nurse with 41 years of experience in her field and extensive expertise in all facets of nursing, especially diabetes education. Bonnie is currently volunteering with Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, Minnesota. She interacts with patients regarding their hospital stay, and their care, as well as important healthcare teaching by the nurses. She is able to communicate compliments from those patients for the very excellent skills of their nursing staff. Furthermore, she has also been affiliated with Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Family Physicians in Edina and Burnsville, Minnesota, HealthPartners Clinics, and lastly St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee, Minnesota. At St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Bonnie was able to build the Diabetes Education Program to be accredited by the American Diabetes Association’s recognition.
Bonnie received her nursing degree from Northwestern Memorial Hospital Nursing School in 1969. She holds a certification as a diabetes educator and remains a professional member of the American Diabetes Association and the Minnesota Nurses Association. Bonnie attributes her success to her compassion and enjoying helping people to live healthy lives and understand their health issues so they can live a full, happy life. When not working, she dedicates her time to volunteering, needlework, knitting, reading, and walking trails around the many beautiful lakes in Minneapolis.
