Exceptional Pulmonologist J. Francis Turner, Jr., MD will be Highlighted in The Leading Physicians of the World

Francis Turner, Jr., MD, Pulmonologist and Intensivist, to their prestigious organization with his upcoming publication in The Leading Physicians of the World. He is a highly trained and qualified pulmonologist and intensivist with a vast expertise in all facets of his work, especially lung cancer and interventional pulmonology. Dr. Turner has been in practice for over 35 years and is currently serving as Vice-Chair of Medicine and Professor in the Department of Medicine and the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine, Knoxville.

Dr. Turner acquired his Medical Degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in 1981 and went on to subspecialty training, completing his pulmonary & critical care medicine fellowships with the U.S. Army at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center. Dr. Turner also completed an Interventional Pulmonology Fellowship under the direction of Dr. Ko-Pen Wang who invented the technique of flexible transbronchial needle aspiration. Dr. Turner holds board certification in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine. Furthermore, he has earned the coveted titles of Fellow of the American College of Physicians, Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, and Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Turner attributes his success to the excellent training he received in the army, and to his wonderful mentor Dr. Wang. When he is not working, Dr. Turner enjoys reading and marathon running.
