The International Association of HealthCare Professionals is pleased to welcome Patricia R. Francis, OP, PsyD, SEP, to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. She is a highly-trained and qualified clinical psychologist with vast expertise in all facets of her work. Dr. Francis has been practicing for 22 years and is currently serving patients as the Director of Counseling Services at The Central DuPage Pastoral Counseling Center. As a member of the Dominican Sisters of Springfield, Illinois, Dr. Francis has been a practicing psychotherapist and a spiritual director and companion since 1987.
Dr. Francis obtained a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Chicago, a Master Degree of Arts in Christian Spirituality from Creighton University and a Master Degree of Arts in Counseling with an emphasis on marriage and family from Sangamon State University. Dr. Francis maintains several professional society memberships with associations such as the American Psychological Association, the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, the Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing International Association, Emotionally Focused Therapy, the International Imago Relationship Therapy, the Association of Clinical Hypnosis, the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute, and Spiritual Directors International. Dr. Francis is also a certified Somatic Experiencing practitioner.
Dr. Francis attributes her success to family support, her congregation of Dominican Sisters of Springfield in Illinois, and her colleagues, friends and clients. She knows American Sign Language and dedicates her spare time to reading, bicycle riding, and gardening. Dr. Francis has a special interest in the integration of spirituality, physical health and psychologically achieving healing, maintaining wellness and promoting personal growth. She also enjoys working with individuals and couples, facilitates group therapy on women’s issues, provides play therapy for children. She works mainly with people who suffer from trauma, depression and anxiety and chronic pain as well as conducting psychological assessments, and leading workshops on a variety of topics, including marriage, communication, spirituality and wellness.
