If you are looking to have a night of inexpensive hilarious fun then you may want to consider the 4th annual Charity Chelm Auction, to be held next month at the Original Carrollwood Recreation Center.
With tickets on sale now for only $5 apiece, in addition to light hors d’oeuvres and desserts, the highlight of the evening will be the LIVE “Chelm” Auction, where you bid on wrapped items with only a few clues what the prizes are. If you win the bidding for a prize, you unwrap it. If someone else wants it, they can try to ‘steal’ it from you, by bidding at least $5 more than your winning bid. Highest final bid gets the prize.
“Each year this event gets more fun because there’s so much unplanned that happens,” says Brenda Evans, one of the evening’s event organizers. “We all want a good laugh and this evening provides that.”
Proceeds from the event go to Congregation Mekor Shalom of Tampa, the newest Conservative synagogue in Tampa. The Congregation is a semi-finalist for a Lippman Kanfer Foundation prize for innovating and strengthening the Tampa Jewish community.
The 4th Annual CHARITY CHELM AUCTION, presented by Selig Multimedia, Inc., will be held at the Original Carrollwood Recreation Center, 3515 McFarland Road, on Saturday, November 19 at 7pm. Other major sponsors include Shulman ADR Law and Sherpa Wealth Partners.
