Dr. Thakur currently serves patients at his private practice, ANA Pain Management PC in Clinton Township, Michigan, and is also affiliated with Henry Ford Hospital. He has over 16 years of experience specializing in anesthesia and pain medicine.
Dr. Thakur received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the Pennsylvania State University, prior to obtaining his Medical degree from St. George’s University. He completed his surgical internship at the Stamford Hospital in Connecticut, now part of Columbia University School of Medicine. He then completed a second year of general surgery at the Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia. Additionally, Dr. Thakur completed his anesthesiology residency and interventional pain fellowship, both at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Furthermore, he is double board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Thakur is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiology, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, the Spine Intervention Society, the American Society of Interventional Pain Medicine, and the North American Spine Society.
Dr. Thakur uses a multimodal, biopsychosocial and evidence based medicine approach towards patient care. He treats disorders of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, cancer pain, as well as chronic and acute pain conditions with minimally invasive and comprehensive paradigm. He attributes his success to carefully listening to his patients, and working together to help give patients full functionality. When he is not working, Dr. Thakur enjoys time with his family, traveling, reading, golf, and weight training.
