Michael Franzese and Oscar GoodmanEven as showrunners shop Mob Confidential, a new reality show in production shot at the Mob Museum in Las Vegas and starring former mob boss turned Christian motivational speaker Michael Franzese and featuring former mob attorney and mayor of Las Vegas Oscar Goodman, the Franzese film God the Father prepares to open in Las Vegas on November 1.

God the Father is the cinematic film that is told with originality and power using sophisticated animation, choreographed dance sequences, high quality dramatizations, actual stock footage and traditional interviews. It’s the untold personal journey of Franzese, the former mobster who made more money for a crime family than anyone since Al Capone, and how he went from being a “made man” to a man of God.

By partnering with Tugg, a new and innovative theatrical event platform, the film will open in more than a dozen cities in nine states on November 1.

The film God the Father chronicles Franzese, who masterminded the incredibly profitable gasoline tax scheme in the 1980s. After publicly renouncing his position in organized crime, he accepted a guilty plea on Racketeering charges, spent time in prison, and upon his release committed himself to using the experiences of his life to help at-risk youth and anyone needing help to overcome challenges and struggles in their own lives.

Back in the ‘70s and ‘80s, while in the mob, Franzese says he visited Las Vegas hundreds of times, where he stayed at The Dunes.

“I would be down there every other week. … It was great. I had a $2 million credit line between myself and all the guys at the Dunes. Everything was comped,” says Franzese.  “It was wide-open back then, not like today where the Gaming Board is on top of everybody. It was great for guys like me. We had the run of the place.”

The Las Vegas opening for God the Father is set for November 1 at 7pm at the AMC Rainbow Promenade 10, 2321 N Rainbow Blvd, Las Vegas 89108.

The reality show starring Franzese and featuring Goodman is currently shooting its second episode.
