Join the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts in our Community Gallery on Friday, October 21, 2016 as we open Lynn Saville: Dark City from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
During the reception, Saville will give a special artist talk inside of the gallery space at 6:00 pm. Visitors and members will be treated to light refreshments during the reception and have the opportunity to engage with Saville as she shares her process and experiences capturing these urban spaces. As the sun sets and dusk emerges around 7:00 pm, Saville will teach a Twilight Photography Workshop in downtown Tampa. This workshop explores the uninhabited local scene and all skill levels are welcome to pre-register online or sign up for the class during the reception.
“FMoPA is thrilled to welcome Lynn Saville to Tampa and give local photographers the opportunity to learn straight from the artist during the artist lecture and workshop. This is truly an amazing opportunity for all types of photographers: digital, film, beginner, or advanced,” says Executive Director Zora Carrier, PhD.
The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts is one of fewer than ten museums in the United States dedicated exclusively to photography and one of two such museums in the state of Florida. FMoPA seeks to enrich the lives of the citizens of the Tampa Bay area by providing rare, specialized access to the wonders of photography not only as an aesthetic form but also as a multi-faceted historical and contemporary document of our world through exhibitions, education, outreach programs, and local collaborations.
Admission is free for members. Admission for not-yet members: $10.00
Twilight Photography Workshop is $55 for members, $95 for not-yet members.
