With an upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare, Cpt. Joan V. Hayden-Adams, RN, joins the prestigious ranks of the International Nurses Association. She is a Registered Nurse with forty-three years of experience in her field and extensive expertise in various areas of nursing, including medical-surgical nursing, emergency room nursing, and Planned Parenthood. Joan is currently serving patients at Coney Island Hospital, a 371-bed facility in Brooklyn, New York, part of the NYC Health and Hospital 11 acute care hospital system that offers general and acute medical care to both adults and children.
Joan received her nursing degree at City University of New York – Brooklyn College. She maintains a professional membership with the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States and is a Captain in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. Joan enjoys reading the American Journal of Nursing and dedicates to painting, writing, and dancing in her spare time. She feels that she has enjoyed a thriving and longstanding career due to being flexible, keeping at it, and not turning jobs down. As a volunteer, Joan taught English as a Second Language with the International Center NYC and served as Red Cross National Nurse with the American Red Cross in New York and Florida.
