The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts (FMoPA) announces the opening of High Fashion: Kristian Schuller, Billy & Hells, Taka Kobayashi on view from May 1, 2015 through June 22, 2015.
With successful professional backgrounds in fashion, the aforementioned photographers create images illustrating an array of cross-cultural, generational, and aesthetic influences. Echoing the themes of escapism prevalent in high fashion, their works possess an otherworldly quality and occupy the space between commercial and fine art photography.
“This space is important,” says Zora Carrier, FMoPA’s Executive Director, “because it can function as a valuable statement on contemporary aesthetic values.”
Members receive free admittance while all other guests are asked to make a $10 suggested donation.
