Sony Music artists savor a historic night at 15th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards

The label’s winners, performers and award presenters steal the spotlight at the industry’s top awards show Calle 13, Camila, Carlos Vives, Marc Anthony, Pepe Aguilar and Raiz were among the winners

Sony Music Latin High Resolution logoAt the 15th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards, Sony Music artists once again showed why they are considered among Latin music’s very best.

With millions of viewers watching tonight’s live telecast from the MGM Garden Arena, the label’s winners, performers and presenters took the spotlight at the industry’s most coveted award show.

“Congratulations to all our wonderful artists, nominees, winners, those who delighted and thrilled us with their performances, and especially to Joan Manuel Serrat, this year’s Person of the Year, who with his artistic talent and his ethical example graced an evening that will be remembered forever.” said Afo Verde, Chairman and CEO of Sony Music Latin Region, Spain and Portugal.

The president of Sony Music US Latin, Nir Seroussi, added: “There is no better way to celebrate another remarkable year in music than alongside our artists and friends at the prestigious Latin GRAMMYs.”

Making the night theirs with multiple awards were Calle 13 in Best Urban Music Album and Best Alternative Song as well as Carlos Vives  in Best Contemporary Tropical Album and Best Tropical Song (with Marc Anthony).

Sony Music artists also lit up the proceedings at the award show with live performances and one-of-a-kind duets. Among the performers were Calle 13, along with Camila, who collaborated with Ricky Martin who also delighted the audience in a solo act.

The night was made even more unforgettable by performances from Santana featuring Pitbull; Carlos Vives with ChocQuibTown and Marc Anthony. Also remarkable was Marc Anthony, joined by Canadian reggae fusion band Magic!.

Recognized this year as the Person of the Year, Joan Manuel Serrat gave the audience a moving performance.

Other performances included Yandel next to Farruko and El General Gadiel; along with Wisin, who was also accompanied by Pitbull and Chris Brown.

Sony Music artists Joaquín Sabina, nominees Raíz (comprising Lila Downs, Soledad and Niña Pastori), Natalia Jiménez, India Martínez, Prince Royce and Jorge Celedón also served as presenters at this year’s Latin GRAMMY® awards.
