Sony Music Latin artist and Latin music superstar Ricky Martin today launched the video for his latest hit single “Vida.”

“Vida,” which was released worldwide as a single, is the official winner of Sony and Fédération Internationale de Football Association’s (FIFA) SuperSong competition.
“I’m very excited to finally release ‘Vida’ and share this special song with the world,” said Martin, who was named Latin Music’s Global Ambassador by “Billboard Magazine.” “I’ve enjoyed every moment of this process, from Sony’s invitation to be part of the SuperSong, to picking the winning song out of thousands and recording it, to traveling to Brazil to film the video.”
Filmed in Rio de Janeiro and directed by Kátia Lund and Lívia Gama of Bossa Nova Films, “Vida” features roughly one hundred people including children, dancers, models, Capoeira and Samba artists and soccer players in an effort to represent the diversity of Brazil.
“I had so much fun traveling to Brazil and filming there. It is an incredible feeling to have had the opportunity to participate in this global initiative that is SuperSong,” said Martin.
Conceived with the intention of bringing pop stars and music lovers around the world together, the SuperSong competition received a total of 1,600 songs from aspiring musicians in 29 different countries.
“Vida,” was written by Elijah King and produced by Salaam Remi, who has worked with numerous superstars including Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys, Santana and Sting. The song mixes various Latin rhythms with English and Spanish and is already a part of the official World Cup album.
