Sony Music Latin artist Romeo Santos, also known as the “King of Bachata,” has set the record for the highest selling week of any Spanish-language single with his chart-topping hit, “Odio.”
Featuring Drake, “Odio” has officially become Latin Music’s best selling and most played song of the week, and has skyrocketed to the top of Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs, Latin Airplay, Latin streaming songs and Latin digital songs charts.
With “Odio” currently sitting atop the charts, Santos’ previous number 1 single, “Propuesta Indecente” has fallen, but only to the number 2 spot on the Hot Latin Songs, Latin Digital Songs and Latin Streaming Songs charts this week. Santos’ two singles combine for ten times the sales of the next highest charting song download.
Sony Music U.S. Latin (www.sonymusiclatin.com) will release Romeo Santos’ next album, “Formula Vol. 2,” on Tuesday, February 25, 2014.
Already the number one album on iTunes as a presale selection, “Formula Vol. 2″ features special guest appearances from Nicki Minaj, Drake, Marc Anthony, Carlos Santana, Tego Calderon and comedian Kevin Hart.
