Elliott Broidy, executive producer of the racing feature film “Snake and Mongoo$e” says he is thrilled that the movie will be the first movie ever screened at a Barrett-Jackson event.
Entertainment Universe announced “Snake and Mongoo$e” will be shown several times at the upcoming 2014 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction in Scottsdale, Barrett-Jackson’s premiere annual event for more than four decades.
“I’m honored that Barrett-Jackson has chosen ‘Snake and Mongoose’ as the first film to ever screen at their auction,” said Elliott Broidy, ‘Snake and Mongoose’ executive producer and President and CEO of Broidy Capital. “This movie was tailor made for the Barrett-Jackson audience.”
“Snake and Mongoose” will be shown at The Miller Lite Garage on the Westworld auction grounds Sunday, January 12 at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 14 at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 16 at 4:00 p.m., and Friday, January 17 at 1:00 p.m.
“This is the first feature film we have ever screened at a Barrett-Jarrett auction but it made perfect sense to do so in connection with this particular auction because the film chronicles the amazing life and times of legendary drag racers Don (“the Snake”) Prudhomme and Tom (“the Mongoose”) McEwen, and we are auctioning off at the upcoming Scottsdale auction the iconic Hot Wheels Haulers and Funny Cars that are owned by Prudhomme and changed so much about drag racing, sports marketing and the diecast world,” said Steve Davis, President of Barrett-Jackson.
The haulers and funny cars will officially go across the block on Saturday, January 18 between 12:00 and 2:00 PM Pacific Standard Time.
Don Prudhomme and Tom McEwen will be on the grounds of the auction throughout the week to do press and autograph signings. Entertainment Universe will be selling its full-size movie posters and huge banners featuring Prudhomme’s famous Yellow Hot Wheels ‘Cuda and McEwen’s famous Red Hot Wheels ‘Duster.
“It will be an exciting week for Don Prudhomme, Tom McEwen, Barrett-Jackson and car enthusiasts the world over and we are very excited that we can be a part of it,” said Robin Broidy, “Snake and Mongoose” producer and head of Entertainment Universe.
Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction will run from Sunday, January 12 through Sunday, January 19.
