PR firm The Publicity AgencyNational PR firm The Publicity Agency’s client Yank Barry and his nonprofit, Global Village Champions Foundation, recently received international media attention for freeing over 50 Syrians from refugee camps in Bulgaria. Barry’s efforts have been featured on CNN, CNN International, Reuters and The Jerusalem Post, among many other media outlets across the world.

Barry along with Global Village Champions ambassador and boxing legend Evander Holyfield and their team took 52 Syrian refugees out of camps and transferred them to a hotel in Sofia, Bulgaria’s capital city. In the hotel that Barry rents, the Syrian refugees will receive an education, healthcare, food and jobs.

While in Bulgaria, Barry met with Bulgaria’s prime minister to discuss the refugee crisis facing the country. Bulgaria is the only country in that part of the world accepting Syrians who have fled out of fear for their lives. Just weeks after Barry met with the prime minister, the European Union gave Bulgaria $7.6 million dollars to help with the refugee crisis.

Not only providing humanitarian aid across the world, Global Village Champions Foundation is also working to knock out hunger worldwide. Through GVCF, which was co-founded in 1995 with longtime friend Muhammad Ali, Barry has delivered over 960 million meals to the hungry around the world.

Barry hired the team at The Publicity Agency to get the word out about his charitable works across the country. A national PR firm known for its work with popular national and international outlets, The Publicity Agency has helped GVCF receive the recognition they deserve.

“Yank’s humanitarian work around the world is incredible,” says Glenn Selig, president and founder of the national PR firm, The Publicity Agency. “His story shows that people are doing good in this world, and his efforts should be told.”
