Ceviche Tapas Bar & RestaurantLast year, guests at Florida’s six Ceviche Tapas Bar & Restaurant locations ordered more than half a million glasses of their coveted house-made sangria.

On Saturday June 1st, in conjunction with GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™, Ceviche’s Sangria Fest is attempting to set a new title by constructing the world’s largest sangria!Guinness World Record logo

Using more than 750 bottles of wine and plenty of brandy, Triple Sec and simple syrup, there will be more than one ton of sangria flowing. The attempt at the world’s largest sangria will also boast 500 pounds of fruit, which will be donated by Sweetbay Supermarket. An official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ Adjudicator will be on hand at Sangria Fest to certify the world record.

Those attending Ceviche’s Sangria Fest will be able to witness to the mixology of the world’s largest sangria. There will be food available alongside the all-you-can-drink sangrias as well as exclusive ‘How to Make Ceviche’ seminars.

“Our secret sangria recipe is a legendary guest favorite at Ceviche so setting the official title not only seemed appropriate but a great way to kick off the summer,” says Ceviche’s CEO Joe Orsino of Sangria Fest.SweetBay logo

With variations including red, white and sparkling, sangria is a drink typically served throughout Spain, Portugal and Argentina. The popular beverage consists primarily of wine, brandy and diced fruit such as oranges, apples, peaches or berries.

Admission to Sangria Fest is $20 per person in advance or $25 at the door. Ceviche will donate 15 percent of the sales from Sangria Fest to the American Red Cross in support of Oklahoma Disaster Tornado Relief.
