Hearing & Speech Center of FloridaImagine sitting in a kindergarten classroom and watching all your classmates begin to move in strange ways, swinging and swaying as if under a magical spell. Everyone else can hear the music but you. This is a normal day in the life of an undiagnosed hearing-impaired child.

The Hearing and Speech Center of Florida offers a solution. The center, located at 9425 SW 72nd St., Suite 261, Miami, Fla., 33173, will host an open house event March 12 through15, sponsored in part by Oticon, Inc.

The open house event will feature complimentary hearing screenings and consultation by clinical audiologist Maria Ortiz, and Oticon’s digital technology expert Madeline Martinez.

As the third leading chronic disability, hearing loss affects 10 percent of children and 50 percent of the elderly population. The purpose of this event is to increase awareness of hearing impairments and introduce Oticon’s newest hearing aid device, the Intiga.

Offered in two distinct styles for clients with busy or especially active lives, the Intiga helps the natural ear better differentiate sounds, and is nearly invisible on the outside.

Purchase for 0 percent financing for 24 months will be available along with a two-week risk-free trial of the Intiga. Other makes and models of hearing aids will also be available for trial.

The open house will take place at the Hearing and Speech Center Tuesday, March 12 through Friday, March 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. Please call 305-271-7343 to schedule an appointment for a free hearing consultation during this time.

The Hearing and Speech Center of Florida’s mission is to empower individuals through better communication. No one among us should live without the ability to hear. Come to the open house event for your free consultation at the center this month, or call today.
