Doug Minor, VP of Sales and Marketing of Strike King Lure Company, is excited about the Company’s sponsorship of the Army Bass Anglers’ organization and it’s FORCE on FORCE television program. “Most of our country’s military community are avid outdoorsmen and women and are all really special people. We look forward to this venue as a way to share our products with them and to support ArmyBassAnglers and its efforts to “Support” those who do serve and those who have served. Fishing is a great way for active duty and veterans to “get away from it all” and we like ArmyBassAnglers’ targeted promotion of fishing to the military community.”
Cody Roberson, President of ArmyBassAnglers says, “We are extremely excited about joining forces with Strike King Lure Company, the preeminent company in the lure industry. They make a complete line of lures and sunglasses for the angler and are a great fit for our mission. Strike King’s lures dominate bass fishing and we want our guys fishing with the best!
Strike King is another incredible organization to add to our arsenal of fantastic sponsors that make our mission possible. ABA is continually seeking premier companies to support our mission and be ‘combat multipliers’ to add to the family of sponsors. We couldn’t be happier and look forward to a long relationship both on and off the water supporting opportunities to get our veterans on the water at every turn—HOOAH!”
About ArmyBassAnglers: ArmyBassAnglers (ABA) consists of 18 pro staff anglers, more than 275 coalition anglers and more than 200 task force members all of whom are active duty or retired U.S. military from all branches of service. ABA has 50,000 subscribers and is constantly growing with active duty and retired U.S. military members.
The group fishes Oakley Big Bass Tour, Bass Champs on the World Fishing Network (WFN), numerous grass roots and charity events. They have been featured on the cover of Bass Angler Magazine and the hit television show Big Bass Battle, which is shown on Versus, Time Warner and WFN. Serving as ceremonial launch boats for the Bassmasters Classics, the organization has gained national awareness on ESPN for Returning Heroes Home, Heroes on the Water and Veteran Outdoors.
The mission statement behind ArmyBassAnglers (ABA) is “SUPPORT.DEFEND.FISH.” SUPPORT refers to, among other things, the following organizations:
The Warrior & Family Support Center, ABA’s original nonprofit it supported, is a 12,000 square-foot rehabilitation center, funded solely by private donations. The center provides space for wounded soldiers undergoing treatment in San Antonio, allowing them to spend private time with their friends and families when they are not actively participating in rehabilitative treatment.
Heroes on the Water (HOW) is a national nonprofit 501c3 that focuses its efforts on kayaking and fishing as a rehabilitative outdoor activity for wounded veterans recovering from their combat injures. HOW is an incredible alternative to power boat fishing and outdoor recreation that has provided very inspiring results, both in physical and emotional rehabilitation.
Veteran Outdoors is a nonprofit 501c3 that completes the ArmyBassAngler’s Task Force of nonprofits. Veteran Outdoors provides big game one-of-a-kind hunting and fishing experiences for wounded veterans with some of the country’s most experienced professionals and guides all focused on the wounded hero and his story.
