"Randy the Raindrop" by Patty Jean Wiese

In “Randy the Raindrop: I’m a Little Raindrop” (ISBN 145635101X), Patty Jean Wiese shows children that even rainy days can be fun, and encourages them to make new friends wherever they go. Randy the Raindrop travels around the world on his favorite cloud, carrying water for people, animals and nature to flourish.

Along the way, Randy takes breaks from raining to have fun and make new friends. This picture book puts rainy days in a new light, showing children that they can entertain themselves even when the sun is hiding. Whether playing in the rain or using their imagination indoors, they can always have fun and meet new friends.

Wiese’s love for the outdoors and her husband’s career in meteorology inspired her to write the book. One day, when her husband gave her a rainy-day forecast, the words “raindrop day” popped into her head. This became her first children’s picture book.

“I want children to let their imaginations have fun, no matter where they are,” Wiese says. “I want to give children a new way to look at and enjoy rainy days.”

Wiese believes parents will enjoy watching their children giggle with “Randy the Raindrop.”

“Randy the Raindrop—I’m a Little Raindrop” is available for sale online at Amazon.com and other online stores.

About the Author: Patty Jean Wiese was a vegetable farmer for years and learned at a young age to be aware of the weather around her. She and her husband, a meteorologist, have been together for 23 years. Patty enjoys knowing firsthand what the weather will be like every day.
