Philanthropist and award-winning author Helen A. Rosburg leads an interesting and challenging life, as Cyndi Edwards discovered during her interview for Daytime TV. Rosburg welcomed Cyndi and Daytime TV viewers into her home to meet her “extended family.”  Rosburg has countless animals she has rescued from abuse and even certain death.

“Nobody wants for anything around here,” she explains to Cyndi while touring the grounds of her peaceful property. Rosburg’s 127-acre farm located in Odessa, FL is now the home to many unloved and forgotten animals–animals that will now have a second chance at life.

Rosburg’s natural care-giving personality has been present since childhood; she’s always been a fighter for the less fortunate, a trait that has only been magnified since her two bouts with breast cancer, a double mastectomy, and a stroke. She doesn’t stop at animals –she also supports a mentoring program, Triple Threat Mentoring, focusing on at-risk urban youth.

Though, sadly, her wealth and generosity have made her a target in the past, making her cautious of outsiders with ulterior motives, she’ll always be a giver.  Now, however, she’s more guarded.

“It’s a constant battle and I just want to be me. I think that’s why I’ve become a hermit,” she admits. It’s not easy for her to trust these days, “I have to get to know you really well. There are very few people I really trust.” Her circle of human friends may be small, but her love for, and from, the  animals is unabated and without end.

Life has dealt Rosburg a few difficult hands, but she shows no signs of defeat. Stay tuned for Rosburg’s next big act which is sure to be as unpredictable as it is generous.
