Readers will easily recognize the fictional planet Thera and its similarities to Earth. As the story unfolds, the moon Harva struggles to break free from Thera’s grip, much like children push to break free from their parents’ shadow.  The events that transpire as a result of this historic situation form the back drop of the story.

Fogleman weaves common themes through the characters, Jimmy, Rit and Sara. Their experiences highlight that all humans share inherent similarities, as well as striking differences. As the story progresses, this tense duality creates conflicts and opportunities for the lead characters.
