For the past five years, Andrew Tessier, the face behind The Barrelrollman Organization, has been rolling around the world creating awareness and raising funds for children in need through a fun somersault.

Join the team on Saturday, August 18 at 2 p.m. at Art Hill in Forest Park in St. Louis, Mo., as they attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the most people to simultaneously somersault at the same time. Only one roll per participant will be required to set the world record, which calls for 836 rolls to be eligible and break the 835 person record set in Switzerland in 2011.

Raising over $2,500 to date for Nurses for Newborns, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization providing a safety net for families most at risk, The Barrelrollman Organization will be asking for a $2 donation per entrant. The first 1,000 participants will receive a one of a kind red rolling wristband as a gift.

“Everyone loves to roll, so why not bring the St. Louis community together to have some fun while supporting a well-deserving cause,” says Andrew Tessier, founder of The Barrelrollman Organization. “Setting the world record would be a great accomplishment, but handing over a check with the proceeds will be even more rewarding!”

Originally started as a party stunt, Tessier has rolled the Great Wall of China, in front of the Drottningholm Palace in Sweden, at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Canada and at the Casino de Monte Carlo, Monaco. His goal has always been to bring a smile and enjoyment to others.

Once the world record has been set and approved, each participant will be able to purchase an official certificate from Guinness with their name stating their participation in the record.

“Nurses for Newborns is thrilled to be the beneficiary of this fun-filled event. Saving babies and strengthening families has always been our goal. It’s by working together that we can truly make a difference!” says Claire Devoto, development director for Nurses for Newborns.

100 percent of the proceeds from the event, as well as merchandise sales benefit the cause. Let’s make the difference in the lives of the babies, one roll at a time!
