Born and raised in Pueblo, Colo., Kochenberger earned a degree in electrical engineering and a doctorate in management science. Today, he serves as a professor of decision science at the University of Colorado at Denver. Kochenberger’s wife, Ann, has suffered with various levels of depression on and off for more than 30 years. His research and personal experience as caregiver inspired him to write in an effort to help others in similar circumstances.
