Barry A. Cohen announces his law firm’s strategic alliance and co-counsel relationship with McIntyre, Panzarella, Thanasides, Hoffman, Bringgold and Todd, P.L.
The McIntyre firm now has several of its lawyers in residence at Cohen’s downtown Tampa office. Cohen’s firm will have full access to the McIntyre firm’s 18 lawyers and their multidisciplinary practice areas.
“I have worked with Rich McIntyre and Paul Thanasides on important commercial cases, including major ‘bet the company’ litigation, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the relationship with these tenacious lawyers,” Cohen said.
Cohen grew up in Tampa and has been recognized by the “Best Lawyers in America” in three categories, including white collar criminal defense and personal injury over the last 25 years.
The Tampa Bay Times recently reported that Cohen represented Sean Hellein, a relator in a federal court cases against WellCare Health Systems, Inc. that resulted in a $177 million reimbursement payment to the state and federal Medicaid systems.
Cohen teams with Kevin Darken of his firm on Whistleblower/Qui Tam cases. Darken, a Harvard Law graduate and former federal prosecutor, is also recognized by his peers in the “Best Lawyers of America,” has published a practice manual on prosecution and defense of health care fraud cases.
“People think of Barry for his criminal defense work, but he has also obtained substantial premises liability and catastrophic injury awards and has assisted local and national businesses in their key commercial litigation needs. Todd Foster has opened his own PLLC, but will continue to co-counsel with Cohen’s firm on certain major federal criminal matters.
Cohen, along with McIntyre and Thanasides of the McIntyre Firm, have been recognized by Florida Trend magazine as Florida “SuperLawyers.”
