Tampa Bay & Company hosted its annual research presentation today to unveil the 2011 Hillsborough County Visitor Study. Over 150 people attended the annual research presentation, which was held at USF Health’s Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS).
A presentation by Dr. Mark Bonn of Bonn Marketing Research Group, Inc. reviewed the study, which included the number of visitors to the county, the economic and employment impacts of visitors, their travel origins, length of stay, spending habits and much more. Additionally, presentations by Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and AAA-The Auto Club Group provided insights in to 2012 trends and what might be in store for this summer and beyond.
Included in the 2011 Hillsborough County Visitor Study were:
- Hillsborough County welcomed 14.5 million visitors
- Those visitors spent $3.4 billion in Hillsborough County
- Over 51,000 local jobs were provided
- Those jobs produced over $1.4 billion in wages
